SciRIS Stage 1
Four biochemistry and biophysics faculty members received SciRIS Stage 1 awards in 2022! These awards provide $10K in seed funding for high-impact collaborative proposals that build teams, pursue fundamental discoveries, and create societal impact.
SciRIS-ii
SciRIS-ii was awarded to Colin Johnson to make a zebrafish model for studying Ferlin-6.
The award is to fund “individual faculty who seek to establish or augment research relationships with external partners.”
Disease Mechanism and Prevention Fund
The Disease Mechanism and Prevention Fund was awarded to Adrian Gombart to explore roles of the cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide in Alzheimer's.
This award “supports research into the mechanism, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of (human) disease.”
